About

Background

I'm a Design Leader that places equal emphasis on craft, the customer, product quality, and the organizational strategy. I aim to create products that are refined and clear in their purpose that solve actual problems. I've had the pleasure of creating and shipping products and design systems that have solved vital customer problems at Intuit, ecobee, Ample Organics, and IBM.

I am incredibly proud of the impactful, curious, ambitious, and highly autonomous teams that I've built throughout my career and the significant role we've played at transitioning the perception of design at organizations from execution to a strategic and valued partner. By fostering strong teams I've been fortunate enough to lead the end-to-end experiences for billion dollar products and oscillate effectively from a strategic lens to tinkering with the designs myself.

Experience

Team Principles

Baser instinct for growth

Team members should have desire to grow, and can expect the environment to foster their growth. We invest in excellence rather than settling for mediocrity.

Capacity to overcome challenges

Difficult tasks are viewed positively as challenges. We bias towards impact through knowledge of our craft and awareness of our gaps.

Deliberate & honest communication

Difficult conversations are viewed through the lens of truth seeking and positive intent. Fluff is avoided to keep true meaning.

Embrace the silly

Take the work seriously, but not yourself. Embrace the absurd so we don't lose our ability to creatively test boundaries.

A skillset surpassing just design

We are problem solvers in addition to designers. Data, tech, and business acumen are expected parts of our skillset.

Drive innovation

We don't settle for what's expected from us, and always push what's possible. Our goal is to bring clarity to ambiguous situations.
